Our parish Care Ministry is committed to visiting home-bound parishioners, including those in nursing, assisted care, and retirement facilities. They distribute Holy Communion to those parishioners and perform other tasks that may be useful to them. They also participate in visits to parish families who have lost a loved one, provide a listening ear and suggestions for resources if counseling or assistance is needed, and may assist in funeral planning.
The Care Ministry has monthly training meetings for six-months, consisting of handouts, videos and discussion. Training as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Eucharist is also a requirement. Ministers will be assigned to one or more home-bound parishioners.
